Norway: Winter Digital Photography Voyage
Can you capture the Northern Lights?
It is many a photographer’s dream to replicate the immense beauty of the Northern Lights, so on this winter digital photography voyage you will be taught the necessary skills to make that happen. All you need is an SLR camera and a passion for nature to unlock your creative potential. Prior to your on-board departure from Tromsø, you will spend two days in this colourful city. On the evening of your arrival you will attend a winter digital photography course that includes a workshop and a Northern Lights safari.
The scenic cruise departs from Tromsø, which is widely associated with occurrences of the Northern Lights, and sails along the shoreline to cultural Bergen. Visiting some of the world’s most remote, northerly cities, your chances of witnessing the Aurora Borealis are considerably increased. Put your newly learnt photography skills to the test as you sail past great mountains and coastal settlements that are whitewashed in thick snow.
Not only is Norway blessed with natural beauty, it is also submersed in a fabulous history and Sámi traditions. During the winter digital photography cruise, there is ample opportunity to explore the attractions of each place on guided sightseeing tours and activities, including husky and snowmobile excursions.
Days 1 to 2 -
Winter Digital Photography in Tromsø

On arrival in Tromsø there will be time for you to discover some of the city’s highlights as well as enjoying a photography workshop. Once you have learnt different techniques to photograph the Northern Lights, you will set off in search of them. Throughout the course of the night you will be provided with food and drinks, so all you need to focus on is framing the perfect picture. If the Aurora does appear, your skills will be challenged by its erratic dance across the dark sky.
The following day, after breakfast at the hotel, you can hone the skills you have learnt on the winter digital photography course, enjoy a husky tour or snowmobile safari, or discover the major sights of the city.
Later, you join your ship which will voyage south through some of Norways most spectacular scenery.

Day 3 -
Lofoten Islands
|
Possibly one of the prettiest archipelagos on Earth, the Lofoten Islands make up the striking backdrops on today’s voyage. Enjoy the immense scenery as the ship journeys along the coast.

Day 4 -
Seven Sisters
|
|
This morning the ship crosses the Arctic Circle before heading towards the Seven Sisters mountain range. These unmistakeable peaks are one of the highlights of the winter digital photography voyage and weather permitting, they are a wonderful subject to zoom in on.

Day 5 -
Medieval Trondheim
|
Early morning the ship sails into Trondheim, an ancient city that is most famously known for its unusual architecture and the impressive Nidaros Cathedral, which you can enjoy a tour of. The vivid wooden buildings that fringe the shore of the city’s old town are also great for ambling around. Why not make the most of the final night on your winter digital photography cruise and enjoy another chance to capture the Northern Lights?

Day 6 -
Arrive in Bergen
|
|
Your journey ends in Bergen where you can wander down to the fascinating Bryggen Wharf or see the sights of the city. Return to the airport, hopefully with many outstanding photographs that will remind you of your incredible experience.

Please Note that weather conditions while you are on-board may mean that you are not able to take the best pictures, the inital stay in Tromso and the stops in ports will rpovide you with excellent opportunties to photograph the scenery, local attractions and, if you are lucky enough, teh aurora borealis.
