Depart UK for Bergen

Arrive in the culturally rich city of Bergen - the starting point of your Northern Lights Cruise. Transfer to your vessel for an afternoon departure, after which you will be served a delectable dinner in the ship’s superb restaurant. Spend the evenings of your cruise socialising in the bar, relaxing in the panorama lounge or enjoying a stroll around the deck - where you will get an incredible view of the Northern Lights if they appear.

Day 2 -
Ålesund – The Town of Art Nouveau

The first full day of your cruise begins with an midday arrival in the picturesque town of Ålesund, which boasts remarkable Art Nouveau architecture. Disembark and enjoy a leisurely stroll around the town, the viewing point at Mount Aksla offers a phenomenal view. Enjoy lunch in one of the Ålesund’s cafés, smoked wild salmon is recommended as it is one of the town’s specialties.
After an afternoon of sightseeing return to your Northern Lights Cruise to continue your journey north, following the breathtakingly beautiful Norwegian coastline.

Day 3 -
Sightseeing in Trondheim
|
|
The medieval city of Trondheim, which was Norway’s first capital, will be the main port of call today. Passengers will have plenty of time to go ashore and explore the city’s gothic buildings at their own pace or join the Trondheim with Nidaros Cathedral city tour. The Ringve Music Museum is another of the cities popular attractions. The ship will depart in the evening, giving you another night of potential Northern Lights sightings.

Day 4 -
Bodø - Arctic Circle
|
Today the ship will cross the Arctic Circle, which increases your chances of witnessing the Northern Lights. When the cruise calls at Bodø there will be time to visit the town’s attractions, which include a selection of museums. The town is relatively modern but it does boast examples of Baroque architecture. The cruise then continues to the scenic Lofoten islands stopping at their beautiful capital Svolvær.

Day 5 -
Capital of the Arctic - Tromso - Northern Lights
|
Enjoy a relaxing morning at sea admiring the majestic landscape of the Norwegian coastline. During the afternoon the Northern Lights cruise will arrive in Tromsø – the capital of the Arctic. Enjoy a late lunch in one of the many cafés which line its streets. The rest of the afternoon can be spent at your leisure. There are plenty of sights to keep you occupied including the Arctic Cathedral which is truly spectacular; the unique design includes a stunning stained glass window the size of an entire wall. The Polar Museum and Polaria centre, which exhibit information about the history of Arctic life, are also not to be missed.

Day 6 -
Honningsvåg
|
After an early stop at Hammerfest the cruise arrives in Honningsvåg, where you can join an optional excursion to the North Cape – mainland Europe’s northernmost point.

Day 7 -
Arrive in Kirkenes
|
Witness increasingly dramatic vistas and exceptional sea life as the ship meanders to Kirkenes, where you can enjoy safaris to the Russian border and Sami communities of northern Finland. The cruise will now turn and begin its journey south, the ports visited during the night on the first part of the voyage can now be seen by day.

Hammerfest

Enjoy a leisurely stop in Hammerfest – the world’s most northerly town. The Northern Lights Cruise then continues to Tromsø, where there is the chance to attend a midnight concert in the Arctic Cathedral.

Day 9 -
Lofoten Islands

Today you will get the thrill of sailing through the extraordinary Lofoten Islands during daylight. In the evening the ship returns to Svolvær before departing from the islands at Stamsund.

The Seven Sisters

The Northern Lights Cruises journeys back across the Arctic Circle past the famous peaks of the Seven Sisters mountain range. The ship ports at Røvik, giving you the opportunity to visit its award-winning maritime museum

Day 11 -
Molde
|

The ship returns to the magnificent city of Trondheim, after an early arrival you are free to explore at leisure. Enjoy an optional excursion or visit the Nidaros Cathedral before returning to the ship. The next stretch of the journey will take you past Hitra island, Kristiansund, Molde and Ålesund. Hopefully Mother Nature will gift you with a phenomenal Northern Lights display on the last night of your voyage.
